Wip – 2011 – Star Wars Star Destroyer

The model is an old (very old) version of the AMT-ERTL Star Destroyer. Unfortunately, the assembly is heavily influenced by the age of the mold, having flashy holes here and there to be filled. After assembling the main pieces I’m passed to the detail work with small pieces of plasticard. Finished this detail work on top and bottom of the bridge , I’m passed to the priming. After doing a bit of preshading with black, I rehearsed with the medium gray to soften the effect. I then drew some stencil with different geometric shapes and I proceeded to color the areas with dark and light gray, to vary the tone of the Star Destroyer, otherwise too monotonous … The model has very large and flat surfaces, then vary the shades helps to not make it too monotonous …
At the end honestly I’m not really satisfied with the result, and if I were to go back I would change some things, but it went like this …
